Assistant Director, Digital & IT
At a time where Local Government continues to face huge efficiency challenges in light of continuing austerity, never has there been a greater opportunity for ICT, technology and digital to come to the forefront and play a leading role in enabling improved services, increased customer experience and most effective use of resources.
Since the shared ICT service launched in 2013, the two Councils have invested to replace their respective legacy arrangements with a common and modernised infrastructure. Technology is now a real enabler of effective service delivery and digital is at the forefront of this.
The new post holder will be critical in ensuring a continued fit for purpose IT infrastructure across all partners, whilst also helping to shape the future digital strategies and services for the residents, citizens and businesses of three high profile partners, and supporting these organisations through an ambitious programme of continued transformation.
Your leadership will ensure that the blend of in-house and externally managed functions across our organisations combine to deliver innovative, high performing, value for money digital and IT services. You will play a strategic role in challenging current public service delivery thinking, and working closely with our customer and communities, scaling innovation across the boroughs.
You will bring experience of leading an ICT function through major change as a member of a senior management team. You will have delivered measurable digital strategies, improvements and business outcomes through improved technology and customer interface for large organisations of a similar scale and/or complexity. You will be able to point to a strong track record of innovation and improvement.
You will combine a high level of commercial acumen, a focus on results and the ability to align digital and IT delivery across multiple corporate priorities. Your negotiation and conflict resolution skills will stand up to the toughest scrutiny, given your role operating across two London boroughs and Achieving for Children.
You will be an inspiring, influential leader who is adept at developing high performing teams, promoting continuous learning and sharing best practice, knowledge and expertise.
